Message from District 10 Governor Donna Dodgen
Dear District 10 Zontians
Well, the New Year is off to a bang with the first quarter almost gone and we are all looking forward to our area meetings. You are invited to any meeting or you can come to all…the more the merrier!
I have been electronically following each of your events/programs as you celebrated March 8th – Zonta Rose Day and I must say that it makes my heart fill to be to be affiliated with such strong and powerful women…we each have a heart of service and advocacy which inspire me.
Since our district meeting I have participated in a ZI conference call with other Governors, had several contacts with our ZI liaison, International Director Laura Peters, and we have had a district board meeting. ZI has been making a very concentrated effort to communicate and we as a District have made the same commitment. So, I do hope you have been receiving information as it is available. The new governing documents have been sent out from ZI and the reports we have been receiving are outcome based on the ZI visioning document and strategic plan. My goal is to share a revised District strategic plan with each of you at our area meetings. Our District 10 website, Facebook page and twitter accounts have been routinely updated as quickly as we can. You are welcome to post on your club website, Facebook pages and re-tweet. The more we share the more exposure we obtain. I suggest you like other Zonta club Facebook pages and follow other clubs on twitter….it’s fun to see what is happening!
Another quick reminder – your District 10 Board is here for you and your club; we are committed to help in any way we can and your Area Directors are a direct line of communication for your club President! The Area Directors are budgeted and tasked with attending a business meeting for each club in their area one time per biennium. Please continue to let us know what is happening in your clubs as we, and I am sure other District 10 Zontians, would love to attend your functions as often as possible so.
Our e-newsletter is a work in progress and so you may see some differences each quarter until it works like we need and want. Currently, the club portion is included in the AD reporting area. Our goal was to have a less lengthy newsletter but we want information to be shared so if it has to be longer to do this then so be it. Please let us know what you think and we all need to show our appreciation to Pris Truesdell from the Zonta Club of San Antonio who is undertaking this very fluid task so please be understanding and we welcome your feedback.
Look forward to seeing you all soon!
Yours in Zonta service,
Donna Dodgen
