Zonta District 10 Nominations for Office

Dear District 10 Zontians,

Your District 10 Nominating Committee is tasked with providing a slate of officers and directors for election in 2025 to serve in the 2026-2028 Biennium.  The election will occur at the Zonta District 10 Conference in Seguin, Texas, October 16-18, 2025.

What better way to build your Zonta confidence than stepping up to leadership as a District Officer. We hope many members are interested in leadership at the district level! But you may be asking yourself, what does being a District Officer really involve? We have attached two documents (District Manual and District Bylaws) which detail the prerequisites to be able to serve in each position along with the duties and responsibilities of each position.

The District positions open for nominations for the 2026-2028 Biennium are:

Governor
Lt. Governor
Treasurer
Area 1 Director
Area 2 Director
Area 3 Director
Nominating Committee at least (5) nominations for (3) positions

Here is some additional information:

Zonta International District 10 Nomination Form

1. The District Board meets at least twice a year per the Bylaws. In District 10, we have historically met three times a year (winter, summer, and during the October Summit or Conference) and, more recently, the winter meeting has been via Zoom. The Governor will set the meetings for the biennium. Also, travel expenses are reimbursed by the district.

    2. The voting members of the board are the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer and the three Area Directors (total 6). The Governor appoints a Secretary, Parliamentarian and the District Committee Chairs. The term of office is two years, beginning at the close of the ZI Convention in 2026.

    3. Each elected District Officer shall be a member of a Club, shall have served at least two years in an elected Club Office and/or have been a District Committee Chair. The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Area Directors shall have served at least one year as a Club President. An elected Officer shall hold no other elective position at District level. No member who has served previously as an elected Officer is eligible to serve in the same office again except that the Treasurer and the
Area Directors are eligible to be elected to a second term which may be either consecutive or not.

    4. At the District Conference, a District Nominating Committee of three members is elected. Each member of the Nominating Committee shall be a member of a Club, shall have served at least two years in an elected Club Office and shall have served in an elected or appointed capacity at the District Level. The term of office is two years, beginning at the close of the ZI Convention in 2024.

The Nominating Committee members will also present this information at the three Area Meetings: Area 1 (March 22), Area 2 (May 3), Area 3 (March 29). We look forward to seeing you there and answering any questions you may have.

Lastly, the District Office Nomination Form is attached and must be submitted by a club (not by the person being nominated) to District 10 Nominating Committee Chair Connie Davis (conniedaviszonta@gmail.com) by June 15, 2025.

We hope you will decide to be part of our great District 10’s continued success and step-up to leadership in our district. District 10 is counting on the commitment of our members to lead us to continued success!

    Kind regards,

    Connie Davis, Chair
